Als Aktfotografie bezeichnet man ein Genre der künstlerischen Fotografie, dessen Thema die Darstellung des nackten (Vollakt) oder teilweise nackten (Halbakt) menschlichen Körpers ist. Die Bestimmung des ästhetischen Wertes einer Aktfotografie und die Abgrenzung der Aktfotografie von der erotischen Fotografie ist intersubjektiv nur schwer zu leisten, photolinks.com darüber hinaus gibt es zahlreiche Überschneidungen mit der Pornografie; Aktfotografie und erotische Fotografie stehen immer im Spannungsfeld zwischen künstlerischer Freiheit, Ästhetik, Kitsch, Provokation und dem Verstoß gegen die ?guten Sitten? oder die Sexualmoral.Auch das Zeigen primärer Geschlechtsmerkmale ist mittlerweile nicht mehr völlig tabu. Im Gegensatz zur Pornografie verfolgt die Aktfotografie nicht das Ziel, den Betrachter zu erregen. Das schließt natürlich nicht aus, dass sie dennoch in dieser Absicht konsumiert wird.

Die Aktfotografie gilt, neben der Porträtfotografie, als hohe Schule der Fotografie; neben technischen Fertigkeiten und einem gekonnten Umgang mit dem Licht als Gestaltungsmittel muss der Aktfotograf auch kommunikative Fähigkeiten mitbringen und eine positive Beziehung zu seinem Modell aufbauen können. Üblicherweise wird zwischen Fotograf und Model ein Modelvertrag abgeschlossen, in dem neben Honorar Veröffentlichungsrechte und Anderes geregelt werden.

Porträttfotografi

Porträttfotografi är en gren av fotografi som tar porträtt med en kamera. Porträttfotograferingen är en mycket stor gren inom fotografin. Den omfattar allt mellan passfoton till ateljéporträtt. I princip kommer det inte ut en enda tidning eller bok utan porträtt. Modefotografi är ocks? en variant av portrträttfotografi. Men ofta för tankarna p? porträtt ocks? p? en ateljé där avancerad ljussättning och eventuell sminkning sker.

There is now a trend toward a careful staging and lighting of the picture, rather than hoping to "discover" it ready-made. Photographers such as Cindy Sherman and Gregory Crewdson, among others, are noted for the quality of their staged pictures.Medium-format and large-format cameras have been preferred by art photographers over 35mm but, with the rapid improvements in the high-end of digital photography, this is now changing.Since the 1990s there have been some internal art-world tensions between fine art photographers and what might be termed "artists with cameras".With the advent of digital photography and Photoshop, montage art photography has once again become popular; it is notably seen in the work of John Goto, who has inspired many imitators. Purely computer-generated digital art (fractals, etc) is usually clearly distinguished from fine-art photography lamelli. No concerted attempt has been made to popularize fine art photography, beyond the limited market for book reproductions. It is generally considered that one has to have an 'educated eye' to really appreciate fine art photography. Since art photography is simply not on the agenda of schools and educationalists, the chance of developing a popular mass market remains limited. Numerous online "web magazines" have appeared since 1995, offering a new form of outlet for viewing fine art photography, but even this remain a niche and sales figures remain poor. Attempts by online art retailers to sell photography alongside prints of paintings have had mixed results, with strong sales coming only from the traditional "big names" of photography such as Ansel Adams.

The term snapshot aesthetic refers to a trend that began to influence fine art photography in the USA from around 1963. The style featured careless compositions and banal everyday subjects, often presented as eccentrically juxtaposed sequences of photographs. Snapshots were taken by 'artists' and hence deemed acceptable within certain sections of the fine art gallery system. The style became especially fashionable among 'artists with cameras' from the late 1970s until the mid 1980s. Notable practitioners were Nan Goldin and Wolfgang Tillmans. Between around 1990 until 2002, the style strongly influenced the commercial fashion photography in youth fashion magazines such as The Face, notably the Nan Goldin-influenced 'heroin chic' look. The style has since run its course in the magazines, and generally been superseded by a more romantic neo-baroque look. The term arose from the fascination of artists with the 'classic' black & white vernacular snapshot, the characteristics of which were: 1) they were made with a camera on which the viewfinder could not easily 'see' the edges of the frame, and so the subject had to be centred; and 2) they were made by ordinary amateur people recording the ceremonies on their lives and the places that they lived.
